LONDON--Tullow Oil PLC (TLW.LN) Thursday said drilling at three
wells in Kenya have found oil.
The oil explorer reported successful results from testing at
onshore blocks 10BB and 13T, which it operates and has a 50% equity
stake in. Africa Oil Corp (AOI.T) owes the other half.
"Etom-1 has successfully extended the South Lokichar rift
bounding fault play northwards and we look forward to testing the
southern area of the basin with Ekosowan-1," said Tullow's
Exploration Director Angus McCoss. "Continued success in appraisal
of the Ngamia and Amosing fields reinforces our belief that the
South Lokichar basin holds very considerable potential which we
hope to replicate in additional basins."
