Not much activity on this board!
I guess it is as secretive as BWEL!
I'm just speculating, but my guess is that BWEL might lease some of their water right now. I can see them selling down the road when the drought reaches mega-proportions. Then the water will be selling for $20,000 and up per acre foot! This company is worth billions imo. glty

Dont really know if they plan on using the water they have to sell it back to the state or getting it bottled up and on the shelves. I guess its worth asking the company directly.

If it drops under $700 might look to try and grab a couple of shares.

Just wondering if anyone has
any thoughts or info as to how the severe drought, now underway in CA., will affect BWEL? I know the large amount of water rights has to be a positive for the company but will the farming part suffer? Which way will this stock go? tia

No doubt, a great company and a great place to park capital in a crazy market.

Boswell book value is so high in relation to share price. They own 250,000 acres at $13,000 an acre= $3.3 Billion
They own 1.8 million acre/ft of water at $7600 acre/ft=$13.7 Billion
Total is $17 billion
shares out= 960,000
Book value is $17,600 share
Shares are at $745
Shares ytrade at less than 5% book value
Earnings were $64/ share.PE is 11
Dividend $16/ share
I have gone to all annual meetings and they are starting to sell vast water rights which will make shares move up alot in my opinion
symbol is BWEL

Yeah, I don't get the secrecy thing either. Apparently it works...lol.

If you call the company, they will send you their fins. That's about all I can find on this one.

I stumbled upon BWEL by accident looking for a way to circumnavigate a farmland investment... it's obviously a very intriguing story. Normally, I would shy away from an uber secretive company like this but this one was just too good to pass up. If this thing went mainstream (if the second generation decided to unload shares), I think that it could make shareholders very rich. Right now, investors are looking for the next inflation hedge... gold, energy and natural resources are volatile, overpriced and highly manipulated. In my opinion (and the opinion of many others), the most valuable and limited resource on our planet is land. As far as inflation hedges go, it doesn't get much better than land. This will be the next big thing... a few hedge funds have already created farmland REIT's and it won't take long before the retail channels (mutual funds and invdividual investors) catch on.
