With the completion of a 10-hole resource expansion drill program, and evaluation of the results by Groundwater Insight Inc. (GWI) of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, the Company is pleased to announce a 175% increase in the total lithium brine resources at the Hombre Muerto North Lithium Project (HMN Li Project), located in Salta Province, Argentina.
The resource is a combination of the in situ contained lithium at the Alba Sabrina, Natalia Maria, and Tramo claim blocks. The total resource has increased from 571,000 tonnes to 1,583,100 tonnes LCE at an average grade of 736 mg/L lithium with a low average magnesium (a brine contaminant) to lithium ratio of 3.27. The updated lithium resource estimate is summarized by each claim block in the following table, relative to a 500 mg/L cut-off:

Lithium South completes final hole of Resource Expansion Program at the HMN Lithium Project, Salta Province, Argentina
March 30, 2023 / Vancouver, BC / Lithium South Development Corporation (the โCompanyโ) (TSX-V: LIS) (OTCQB: LISMF) (Frankfurt OGPQ). Lithium South Development is pleased to announce the completion of NM01, the final hole of the current resource expansion program at the Hombre Muerto North Lithium Project, Salta Province, Argentina. The hole is located on the Natalia Maria Claim Block, a 115-hectare area strategically located on the salar. Drilling at NM01 has intersected brine-bearing interbedded sediments and fractured halite from surface to a depth of approximately 200 meters. Below that, to the final borehole depth of 375 meters, the halite has lower permeability. Nine packer samples have been collected between 24 and 189 meters, with a density range of 1.215 to 1.218 g/mL and a conductivity range of 196.3 to 209.5 mS/cm. Samples will be sent to Alex Stewart Laboratories (ISO Certified Mendoza, Argentina) for analysis.
A monitoring well will be installed to test the upper, more permeable, halite. A separate shallow well will be installed on the same platform to test the shallow interbedded sediments. The goal of the monitoring wells is to provide a preliminary indication of whether the claim block will support one or more shallow pumping wells for potential future lithium production.
The 2022-2023 resource expansion program is comprised of a total of eight core wells, seven were drilled on the Alba Sabrina Claim Block, the largest in the project package at 2,089 hectares. Combined with the newly completed hole NM01 at the Natalia Maria Claim Block, and the 2018 drill program at the 383-hectare Tramo Claim, over 75 % of the salar located claims has now been drill tested.
A new updated lithium carbonate equivalent resource will be calculated under the supervision of Groundwater Insight, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Management expects to substantially add to the current 571,000 tonne LCE resource identified at the Tramo Claim Block in 2018 (October 02, 2018, News Release). The intent of expanding the current resource is to increase the project size potential from the 5,000 tonne per year operation defined in the 2019 Preliminary Economic Assessment (filed August 12, 2019).

New Technology for HMN Lithium Project

(โNRGโ or the โCompanyโ) (TSX-V: NGZ) (OTCQB: NRGMF) (Frankfurt OGPN), the Company is pleased to announce it has entered into a cooperation agreement with Sino Lithium Materials Pty Ltd (Sino Lithium) and Chengdu Chemphys Chemical Industry Co. (Chemphys)(collectively Sino Li) for the advancement and development to potential lithium production, of the Hombre Muerto North Lithium Project (HMN Li Project), located in Salta Province, Argentina.
Sino Li has developed a proprietary lithium extraction process which could represent an alternative to the conventional evaporation process currently used in the industry. The process has the potential to significantly increase lithium recovery and reduce the production lead time compared the conventional processes. A summary of the agreement terms are as follows:
Stage 1: Sino Li shall conduct laboratory analysis of brine from the HMN Li Project to determine the suitability its proprietary extraction technology. Upon completion of the analysis, the parties may decide to proceed to stage 2.
Stage 2: Sino Li at its cost, shall engineer and build a pilot plant unit for testing at its China facility. Sino Li shall use synthetic brine calibrated to the projectโs chemistry, and also a bulk brine sample obtained from the project, to demonstrate the results obtained in Stage 1 at its facility in China. Sino Li shall bear the total cost of the process which will be completed under the supervision of a Qualified Person as defined in National Instrument 43-101.
Stage 3: Upon obtaining satisfactory results in Stage 2, Sino Li shall work with NRG to ship the pilot plant to the HMN Li Project site for testing utilizing Sino Li technical expertise. At the completion of this stage, Sino Li shall be deemed to have earned a 15% working interest in the HMN Li Project.
Stage 4: Upon completion of Stage 3, Sino Li and NRG shall select an appropriate engineering firm, acceptable to NI 43-101 standards, to complete a Feasibility Study. NRG shall be responsible for 70% of the costs and Sino Li shall be responsible for 30% of the costs. Upon completion of a bankable positive feasibility study, Sino Li will be deemed to have earned a 30% working interest in the HMN Li Project.

Lithium South Announces Final Property Payment on 3287 Hectare Hombre Muerto North Lithium Project
March 3, 2022 / Vancouver, BC / Lithium South Development Corporation (the โCompanyโ) (TSX-V: LIS) (OTCQB: LISMF) (Frankfurt: OGPQ). Lithium South Development Corp. has completed the last payment for the acquisition of the 3,287-hectare Hombre Muerto North lithium project located in Salta province, Argentina, as initially announced on June 5, 2017. The final payment included the issuance of 1.75 million common shares at a deemed price of 58 cents to Jorge E. Moreno and Alba Silvia Sala (the vendors) pursuant to a mining exploration agreement with option to purchase dated May 17, 2017, as amended on Oct. 31, 2017, and April 22, 2018, entered into with the vendors regarding the Hombre Muerto North lithium project.
Pursuant to the payment schedule under the agreement, the company paid a total of US $5.65 million and issued a total of 10 million common shares to the vendors and has completed its obligations thereunder. The vendors agree to assign and transfer 100 percent of the rights of assignment, title, and interest in the property to the company free from any liens or encumbrances. The vendors shall retain a 3 percent royalty on the net return from the production of lithium carbonate and/or from any other product derived from brine operations.

To increase shareholder value, management intends to significantly expand the known resource with a drill program and further pumping wells. In addition, the Company will undertake a Feasibility Study using industry proven conventional evaporation and if warranted, Direct Lithium Extraction technology. Lithium South has approximately CDN$ 18 million in working capital and has an extensive advertising program planned to raise investor awareness by showcasing Lithium Southโs exploration/development results.
Resource Expansion
The HMN Li Project is comprised of 3,287 hectares of which only the 383-hectare Tramo claim block has been drill tested. A recent TEM study has identified significant expansion potential over the balance of the claim blocks and in particular at the 2,089-hectare Alba Sabrina claim block. Drill permissions are expected in January 2022 and road as well as drill pad construction have already been initiated. A camp located near the project, has been contracted to house personnel and a drill contract is expected to be awarded this month.

Brine mining is the wave of the future, and can be used to extract countless materials, from Lithium to silver, or silica from sand, it is the only way to extract the finest, purest lithium available, reducing cost later during the process of refining, adding value to the mining process.
It is also cheaper to liquid mine, than mechanical mine, once initial costs are covered. This also allows brine removal to be applied to piles of waste/scrap to extract material that can not be recovered mechanically, such as silver being removed from common slag piles at aprox 1oz.per ton for example.
Brine mining (think vinegar) is also environmentally safer than most chemicals used otherwise in the industry. This liquid mining process will be the norm some day for many mining operations and environmental cleanup tasks as well.
