Vinci said Thursday that a consortium including two of its
businesses won a contract for an electrical interconnection between
France and Spain that will bring them some 300 million euros
($325.1 million.)
The contract to build two electrical energy converter stations
was won by a consortium comprising Vinci Energies, Vinci
Construction and Hitachi Energy, the French conglomerate said.
The stations will transform alternative current into direct
current, and will be connected via an undersea cable between the
two countries, enabling energy exchange between them, Vinci
said.
The two Vinci businesses will be paid around EUR300 million for
the design and construction of the stations, which should be
delivered in 2028, the company said. The contract was awarded by
Electricity Interconnection France-Spain, a joint venture bringing
together the two countries' respective electricity-network
operators.
