                        APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Bespak plc, the drug delivery company, today announces the appointment of Mark
Throdahl as Chief Executive. The appointment is effective from 7 June 2001.

Mark brings extensive experience of the healthcare market to Bespak. He joins
Bespak after spending twelve years with Becton Dickinson, a leading healthcare
devices, systems and services company. During his time with Becton Dickinson,
Mark held a number of positions including President of Nippon Becton Dickinson
in Tokyo, Sector President of Drug Delivery and, finally, Senior Vice
President with responsibility for international organisations and shared
operations. Prior to this, Mark was with Mallinckrodt, Inc., the medical
device and diagnostic products manufacturer, for fifteen years. He is an
alumnus of Princeton University and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.
