Celtic plc ("the Company") announces the appointment with immediate effect of Mr
Eric Hagman as non-executive director of the Company.


Mr Hagman, 56, lives in Glasgow and is currently a non-executive director of
Greenock-based British Polythene Industries plc. He is also a board member of
Scottish Enterprise and of the Royal College of Art in London. He is a former
member of the Council of CBI Scotland and of the Board of Scottish Financial
Enterprise. There are no further matters to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph
6.F.2(b) to (g) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority in relation to
Mr Hagman's appointment.


Mr Kevin Sweeney, an existing non-executive director of the Company, will not be
standing for re-election at the Company's Annual General Meeting this autumn.
