Cat Dealers Achieving DSS Mining Sales Success
Cat Dealer Sales to New and Existing DSS Customers Supports a
Strong Seeing Machines' Fourth Quarter
23 June 2015
Seeing Machines (AIM: SEE), the AIM-listed company with a focus
on operator monitoring and intervention sensing technologies and
services, is delighted to announce that Caterpillar Safety
Services, in conjunction with major Cat dealers, are building a
strong global DSS sales pipeline and have recently booked
significant DSS sales in the Australian and Canadian markets.
Cat Safety Services and Finning Canada supply DSS solution to
Kearl oil sands project in Alberta.
Kearl, located north of Fort McMurray Alberta and jointly owned
by Imperial and ExxonMobil Canada, is one of Canada's
highest-quality oil sands deposits with an estimated 4.6 billion
barrels of recoverable bitumen resource.
Finning International, one of the world's largest distributors
of Caterpillar products and support services, in partnership with
Caterpillar Safety Services, have been contracted by Imperil to
implement a DSS solution across a 47 haul truck fleet. The solution
is underpinned by Caterpillar Safety Services provision of their
Fatigue Risk Management consulting program designed to ensure that
the technology delivers maximum safety and performance benefits to
the customer.
WesTrac to supply and fit DSS hardware into BHP's Mount Arthur
coalmine in Australia.
Wholly-owned subsidiary of BHP Billiton, Mount Arthur coalmine
produces thermal coal used for power generation for both Australian
and export markets. The mine has a full production capacity of 20
million tons per annum of raw energy coal.
Seeing Machines equipped half of Mount Arthur's fleet with DSS
technology in 2013 following a successful pilot program. BHP is now
deploying the technology into the balance of the site's 90 plus
vehicle haul fleet with the help of Eastern Australian Cat dealer
WesTrac. This Eastern Australian installation builds on BHP's
global DSS coverage, which includes sites in South Africa, Western
Australia and Latin America and contributes to Seeing Machines
recurring licensing and monitoring revenue streams.
Caterpillar alliance agreement
Seeing Machines and Caterpillar continue to implement the
four-phased alliance agreement. With key dealers now onboard,
combined with Caterpillar Safety Services' services programs, the
alliance is experiencing increased interest in the solution despite
the challenging conditions in the resources sector.
Ken Kroeger, CEO of Seeing Machines said: "It's great to see the
investment that Seeing Machines and Caterpillar have made begin to
deliver returns for both parties and for the dealer network. The
next phases of the relationship will introduce another level of
integration between our companies and greatly expand the markets
for our technology."
