French consumer confidence unexpectedly climbed in April

Consumer confidence recorded an unexpected rise to 101.00 in April, in France, compared to market expectations of a steady reading. In the prior month, consumer confidence had recorded a reading of 100.00.

Spanish PPI climbed in March

The Producer price index (PPI) recorded a rise of 1.30% on an annual basis, in March, in Spain. In the previous month, the PPI had climbed by a revised 1.20%.

Swiss economic expectations index dropped in April

The economic expectations index eased to 7.20 in April, in Switzerland, compared to a level of 16.70 in the previous month.

US mortgage applications eased in the last week

Mortgage applications in the US recorded a drop of 0.20% in the week ended 20 April 2018, on a weekly basis. In the prior week, mortgage applications had advanced 4.90%.

Japanese all industry activity index rose less than expected in February

On a MoM basis in February, the all industry activity index advanced 0.40% in Japan, lower than market expectations for an advance of 0.50%. In the prior month, the all industry activity index had registered a revised drop of 1.10%.
