UK CPI advanced less than expected in June

In June, the consumer price index (CPI) advanced 2.40% in the UK on a YoY basis, lower than market expectations for an advance of 2.60%. The CPI had registered a similar rise in the previous month.

UK house price index advanced less than expected in May

In the UK, the house price index recorded a rise of 3.00% on a YoY basis in May, less than market expectations for a rise of 3.70%. In the prior month, the index had registered a revised rise of 3.50%.

Euro-zone CPI advanced as expected in June

The CPI registered a rise of 0.10% on a MoM basis in the Euro-zone, in June, meeting market expectations. In the previous month, the CPI had advanced 0.50%.

US housing starts dropped in June

In the US, housing starts fell 12.30%, on MoM basis, to an annual rate of 1173.00 K in June, compared to market expectations of 1320.00 K. Housing starts had recorded a revised reading of 1337.00 K in the prior month.

US building permits unexpectedly fell in June

Building permits in the US unexpectedly fell by 2.20%, on MoM basis, to an annual rate of 1273.00 K in June, compared to market expectations of 1330.00 K. Building permits had registered a reading of 1301.00 K in the prior month.
