US CB consumer confidence index unexpectedly rose in September
The CB consumer confidence index in the US recorded an unexpected rise to a level of 138.40 in September, compared to market expectations of a drop to 132.00. In the previous month, the CB consumer confidence index had recorded a revised reading of 134.70.
US Richmond Fed manufacturing index surprisingly climbed in September
The Richmond Fed manufacturing index advanced unexpectedly to a level of 29.00 in September, in the US, compared to market expectations of a fall to 20.00. The Richmond Fed manufacturing index had recorded a reading of 24.00 in the prior month.
US housing price index advanced less than expected in July
The housing price index advanced 0.20% in the US on a monthly basis in July, compared to a revised rise of 0.30% in the prior month. Market anticipation was for the housing price index to climb 0.30%.
US S&P/Case-Shiller home price index rose in July
The S&P/Case-Shiller home price index in the US recorded a rise to 213.76 in July. In the previous month, the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index had registered a revised reading of 213.17.
Japanese leading economic index dropped in July
In Japan, the final leading economic index recorded a drop to 103.90 in July. In the prior month, the leading economic index had registered a revised level of 104.60. The preliminary figures had recorded a fall to 103.50.
