UK retail sales dropped in October
In the UK, retail sales slid 0.10% on a MoM basis in October. In the previous month, retail sales had registered an unchanged reading.
Euro-zone GDP rose in 3Q 2019
In the Euro-zone, the seasonally adjusted second estimate of gross domestic product (GDP) rose 0.20% on a QoQ basis in 3Q 2019. In the prior quarter, GDP had registered a similar rise.
German GDP surprisingly climbed in 3Q 2019
In Germany, the seasonally adjusted flash GDP unexpectedly rose 0.10% on a QoQ basis in 3Q 2019, compared to a drop of 0.10% in the prior quarter. Markets were anticipating the GDP to fall 0.10%.
US initial jobless claims rose in the last week
In the US, the seasonally adjusted initial jobless claims registered a rise to a level of 225.00 K in the week ended 09 November 2019, compared to a reading of 211.00 K in the prior week. Markets were expecting the initial jobless claims to advance to a level of 215.00 K.
Japanese industrial production advanced more than expected in September
In Japan, the final industrial production registered a rise of 1.70% on a MoM basis in September, compared to a fall of 1.20% in the prior month. Market anticipation was for industrial production to rise 1.40%.
