Euro-zone consumer confidence index rose more than expected in December

In the Euro-zone, the flash consumer confidence index climbed to a reading of -13.90 in December, compared to a level of -17.60 in the prior month. Market expectations were for the index to advance to a level of -16.80.

US Chicago Fed National Activity Index dropped in November

In the US, the Chicago Fed National Activity Index dropped to a reading of 0.27 in November, compared to a revised level of 1.01 in the previous month.

Australian retail sales unexpectedly advanced in November

In Australia, seasonally adjusted flash retail sales recorded a jump of 7.00% on a MoM basis in November, compared to a rise of 1.40% in prior month. Markets were anticipating retail sales to fall 0.60%.
