UK house prices climbed more than expected in December
In the UK, the non-seasonally adjusted house prices recorded a rise of 7.30% on an annual basis in December, compared to a rise of risen 6.50% in the previous month. Market were expecting the house prices to record an advance of 6.70%.
US advance goods trade deficit expanded in November
In the US, advance goods trade deficit widened to $84.80 billion in November, compared to a deficit of $80.29 billion in the prior month.
US Chicago Purchasing Managers’ Index unexpectedly rose in December
In the US, the Chicago Fed Purchasing Managers’ Index unexpectedly rose to a level of 59.50 in December, compared to a reading of 58.20 in the last month. Markets were expecting the index to record a fall to a level of 57.00.
US pending home sales dropped in November
In the US, pending home sales declined 2.60% on a MoM basis in November, compared to a revised drop of 0.9% in the previous month.
