Euro-zone CPI rose as expected in March
In the Euro-zone, the CPI advanced 1.3% in March, in line with market expectations and compared to a rise 0.9% in the previous month.
Euro-zone trade surplus narrowed in February
In the Euro-zone, trade surplus narrowed to €18.4 billion, compared to a revised surplus of €28.7 billion in the previous month.
US building permits rose in March
In the US, building permits rose 2.7% in March, compared to a revised decline of 8.8% in the previous month.
US housing starts advanced in March
In the US, housing starts jumped 19.4% in March, compared to a revised drop of 11.3% in the previous month.
US consumer sentiment index rose less than expected in April
In the US, the consumer sentiment index advanced to a reading of 86.5 in April, compared to a level of 84.9 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to record a rise to a level of 89.6.
