UK house price index rose in July
In the UK, the house price index rose 0.7% on a YoY basis in July, compared to a rise of 0.8% in the previous month.
Euro-zone CPI climbed as expected in June
In the Euro-zone, the CPI advanced 1.90% on a YoY basis in June, in line with market expectations and compared to a rise of 2.00% in the prior month.
Euro-zone trade surplus narrowed in May
In the Euro-zone, seasonally adjusted trade surplus narrowed to €9.40 billion in May, compared to a revised surplus of €13.40 billion in the previous month.
US consumer sentiment index unexpectedly dropped in July
In the US, the consumer sentiment index unexpectedly fell to a level of 80.80 in July, compared to a reading of 85.50 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to advance to a level of 86.50.
US retail sales unexpectedly rose in June
In the US, retail sales advanced 0.60% on a MoM basis in June, compared to a revised drop of 1.70% in the prior month. Markets were expecting retail sales to record a drop of 0.40%.
