In Germany, the IFO business expectations index fell to a reading of 97.50 in August, compared to a revised level of 101.00 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the index to drop to 100.00.
German IFO current assessment index climbed more than anticipated in August
In Germany, the IFO current assessment index advanced to a reading of 101.40 in August, compared to a level of 100.40 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to advance to 100.80.
German IFO business climate index fell more than market forecast in August
In Germany, the IFO business climate index dropped to a level of 99.40 in August, compared to a revised reading of 100.70 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the index to fall to a level of 100.40.
US mortgage applications rose in the week ended 20 August 2021
In the US, the mortgage applications advanced 1.60% on a weekly basis in the week ended 20 August 2021, compared to a drop of 3.90% in the prior week.
US durable goods orders dropped less than expected in July
In the US, durable goods orders fell 0.10% on a MoM basis in July, compared to a revised rise of 0.80% in the prior month. Markets were expecting durable goods to record a fall of 0.30%.
