UK house price index advanced in October
In the UK, the house price index rose 1.80% on a MoM basis in October, compared to a rise of 0.30% in the previous month.
Euro-zone trade surplus unexpectedly narrowed in August
In the Euro-zone, seasonally adjusted trade surplus narrowed to €11.10 billion in August, compared to a revised surplus of €13.50 billion in the prior month. Markets were expecting trade surplus to widen to €19.30 billion.
US retail sales unexpectedly rose in September
In the US, retail sales advanced 0.70% on a MoM basis in September, compared to a revised rise of 0.90% in the previous month. Markets were expecting retail sales to record a drop of 0.20%.
US consumer sentiment index unexpectedly dropped in October
In the US, the consumer sentiment index fell to a reading of 71.40 in October, compared to a level of 72.80 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the index to rise to a level of 73.10.
US NY Empire State manufacturing index fell more than expected in October
In the US, the NY Empire State manufacturing index dropped to 19.80 in October, compared to a level of 34.30 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to fall to 27.00.
