UK CPI climbed more than expected in October
In the UK, the CPI advanced 4.20% on a YoY basis in October, compared to a rise of 3.10% in the prior month. Markets were expecting the CPI to record a rise of 3.90%.
UK house price index rose in September
In the UK, the house price index advanced 11.80% on a YoY basis in September, compared to a revised rise of 10.20% in the previous month.
Euro-zone CPI advanced as anticipated in October
In the Euro-zone, the CPI rose 4.10% on a YoY basis in October, in line with market expectations and compared to an advance of 3.40% in the prior month.
US building permits unexpectedly rose in October
In the US, building permits advanced 4.00% in October, compared to a drop of 7.70% in the previous month. Markets were expecting building permits to record a fall of 3.50%.
US housing starts unexpectedly fell in October
In the US, housing starts dropped 0.70% in October, compared to a revised fall of 2.70% in the prior month. Markets were expecting housing starts to record an advance of 0.60%.
