UK construction PMI unexpectedly rose in November

In the UK, the construction PMI unexpectedly advanced to a level of 55.50 in November, compared to a level of 54.60 in the prior month. Market anticipations were for the construction PMI to fall to 52.00.

UK retail sales across all sectors rose in November

In the UK, retail sales across all sectors climbed 1.80% on a YoY basis in November, compared to a fall of 0.20% in the previous month.

Euro-zone investor confidence index dropped in December

In the Euro-zone, the investor confidence index fell to a level of 13.50 in December, compared to a level of 18.30 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the index to fall to a level of 15.50.

German factory orders dropped more than expected in October

In Germany, the seasonally adjusted factory orders slid 6.90% on a MoM basis in October, compared to an advance 1.30% in the prior month. Markets were expecting factory orders to fall 0.50%.

RBA keeps interest rate steady

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), in its latest monetary policy decision, kept its key interest rate steady at 0.10%, at par with market expectations.
