UK gross domestic product rose less than expected in October
In the UK, GDP rose 0.10% on a MoM basis in October, compared to a rise of 0.60% in the previous month. Markets were expecting GDP to rise 0.40%.
UK industrial production unexpectedly dropped in October
In the UK, industrial production unexpectedly fell 0.60% on a MoM basis in October, compared to a decline of 0.40% in the prior month. Markets were expecting industrial production to rise 0.10%.
German CPI advanced as expected in November
In Germany, the CPI rose 5.20% on a YoY basis in November, in line with market expectations and compared to a rise of 4.50% in the previous month.
US CPI jumped in November
In the US, the CPI jumped 0.80% on a MoM basis in November, compared to a rise of 0.90% in the previous month. Markets were expecting the CPI to record a rise of 0.70%.
US consumer sentiment index unexpectedly climbed in December
In the US, the consumer sentiment index advanced to 70.40 in December, compared to a level of 67.40 in the prior month. Market expectations were for the index to fall to 67.10.
