UK BRC shop price index advanced in December
In the UK, the BRC shop price index rose 0.80% on a YoY basis in December, compared to an advance of 0.30% in the prior month.
Euro-zone manufacturing PMI dropped as expected in December
In the Eurozone, the final manufacturing PMI dropped to 58.00 in December, as anticipated and compared to a reading of 58.40 in the prior month.
German manufacturing PMI remained unchanged in December
In Germany, the final manufacturing PMI remained unchanged at a level of 57.40 in December. Market expectations were for the manufacturing PMI to advance to 57.90.
US Markit manufacturing PMI fell in December
In the US, the final Markit manufacturing PMI recorded a drop to 57.70 in December, compared to a reading of 58.30 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the Markit manufacturing PMI to fall to 57.80.
US construction spending climbed less than expected in November
In the US, construction spending climbed 0.40% on a MoM basis in November, compared to a revised rise of 0.40% in the prior month. Markets were expecting construction spending to record an advance of 0.60%.
