UK manufacturing PMI dropped less than expected in December
In the UK, the final manufacturing PMI dropped to 57.90 in December, compared to a reading of 58.10 in the previous month. Market anticipations were for the manufacturing PMI to drop to 57.60.
UK number of mortgage approvals for house purchases declined in November
In the UK, number of mortgage approvals for house purchases recorded a drop to 67.00 K in November, compared to a revised reading of 67.10 K in the previous month. Markets were expecting mortgage approvals to fall to 65.65 K.
German unemployment rate unexpectedly dropped in December
In Germany, the unemployment rate unexpectedly fell to 5.20% in December, compared to a rate of 5.30% in previous month. Markets were anticipating the unemployment rate to remain unchanged at 5.30%.
US ISM manufacturing PMI fell more than expected in December
In the US, the ISM manufacturing PMI dropped to 58.70 in December, compared to a level of 61.10 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the manufacturing PMI to drop to a level of 60.10.
US JOLTs job openings dropped in November
In the US, the JOLTs job openings fell to 10562.00 K in November, compared to a revised level of 11091.00 K jobs in the prior month.
