US NFIB business optimism index fell in January
In the US, the business optimism index declined to a level of 97.10 in January, compared to a reading of 98.90 in the prior month.
US goods and services trade deficit widened in December
In the US, goods and services trade deficit widened to $80.73 billion in December, compared to a revised deficit of $79.33 billion in the previous month. Markets were expecting deficit to widen to $83.00 billion.
US economic optimism unexpectedly dropped in February
In the US, the economic optimism unexpectedly eased to a level of 44.00 in February, compared to a reading of 44.70 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the economic optimism index to rise to 47.20.
Australia Westpac consumer confidence index declined in February
In Australia, the Westpac consumer confidence index fell 1.30% in February, compared to a drop of 2.00% in the previous month.
