UK ILO unemployment rate rose as expected in December

In the UK, the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.10% in December, as expected.

Euro-zone GDP rose as expected in 4Q 2021.

In the Euro-zone, the preliminary gross domestic product (GDP) rose 0.30% on a QoQ basis in 4Q 2021, as expected and compared to an advance of 2.30% in the prior quarter.

Euro-zone economic sentiment index declined in February

In the Euro-zone, the economic sentiment index fell to 48.60 in February, compared to a reading of 49.40 in the previous month.

Euro-zone trade deficit widened in December

In Euro-zone, trade deficit widened to €9.70 billion in December, compared to a revised deficit of €1.80 billion in the previous month. Markets were expecting trade deficit to widen to €2.50 billion.

German economic sentiment index rose less than anticipated in February

In Germany, the economic sentiment index rose to a level of 54.30 in February, compared to a level of 51.70 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to climb to a level of 55.00.
