UK average earnings including bonus rose more than expected in January
In the UK, average earnings including bonus climbed 4.80% on a YoY basis in January, compared to a rise of 4.30% in the previous month. Markets were expecting average earnings to record an advance of 4.60%.
UK unemployment rate dropped in January
In the UK, the unemployment rate dropped to 3.90% in the three months ended January, compared to a rate of 4.10% in the prior month. Markets were expecting the unemployment rate to fall to 4.00%.
Euro-zone economic sentiment index unexpectedly dropped in March
In the Euro-zone, the economic sentiment index registered an unexpected drop to -38.70 in March, compared to a reading of 48.60 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to rise to 49.30.
Euro-zone industrial production recorded a flat reading in January
In the Euro-zone, industrial production recorded a flat reading in January, compared to a revised rise of 1.30% in the prior month. Markets were expecting industrial production to record a rise of 0.10%.
German economic sentiment index dropped in March
In Germany, the economic sentiment index eased to -39.30 in March, compared to a reading of 54.30 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the index to drop to 10.00.
