UK GDP rose more than expected in 4Q 2021
In the UK, the GDP advanced 1.30% on QoQ basis in 4Q 2021, compared to a rise of 1.00% in the previous quarter. Markets were expecting the GDP to record a rise of 1.00%.
UK Nationwide housing prices advanced more than expected in March
In the UK, the Nationwide housing prices jumped 14.30% on a YoY basis in March, compared to an advance of 12.60% in the previous month. Markets were expecting the housing prices to record a rise of 13.50%.
Euro-zone unemployment rate dropped less than expected in February
In the Euro-zone, the unemployment rate dropped to 6.80% in February, compared to a revised rate of 6.90% in the prior month. Markets were expecting the unemployment rate to drop to 6.70%.
German unemployment rate remained unchanged in March
In Germany, the unemployment rate remained steady at 5.00% in March, in line with expectations.
US initial jobless claims rose more than anticipated in the week ended 25 March 2022
In the US, initial jobless claims rose to 202.00 K in the week ended 25 March 2022, compared to a revised level of 188.00 K in the prior week. Markets were expecting initial jobless claims to rise to 197.00 K.
