In the UK, the consumer confidence declined to a level of -40.00 in May, compared to a reading of -38.00 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to record a drop to -39.00.
Euro-zone construction output recorded a flat rating In March
In the Euro-zone, construction output recorded a flat reading in March, compared to a revised rise of 1.10% in the prior month.
Euro-zone current account balance reported a deficit in March
In the Euro-zone, current account balance posted a deficit of €1.60 billion in March, compared to a revised surplus of €15.70 billon in the previous month.
US existing home sales dropped more than expected in April
In the US, existing home sales fell 2.40% on a MoM basis in April, compared to a revised drop of 3.00% in the prior month. Markets were anticipating existing home sales to record a drop of 0.70%.
US initial jobless claims advanced more than anticipated in the week ended 13 May 2022
In the US, the initial jobless claims climbed to 218.00 K in the week ended 13 May 2022, compared to a revised reading of 197.00 K jobs in the prior month. Markets anticipations were for the initial jobless claims to rise to 200.00 K.
