UK BRC retail sales dropped in June
In the UK, the BRC like-for-like retail sales fell 1.30% on a YoY basis in June, compared to a drop of 1.50% in the previous month.
Japan PPI advanced more than expected in June
In Japan, the producer price index (PPI) climbed 9.20% on a YoY basis in June, compared to a rise of 9.10% in the prior month. Markets were anticipating the PPI to record a rise of 8.80%.
Australian business conditions index dropped less than expected in June
In Australia, the National Australia Bank’s business conditions index fell to 13.00 in June, compared to a reading of 16.00 in the previous month. Market expectations were for the index to fall to 9.00.
Australian business confidence index unexpectedly declined in June
In Australia, the National Australia Bank’s business confidence unexpectedly fell to 1.00 in June, compared to a reading of 6.00 in the prior month. Market anticipations were for the index to rise to a level of 8.00.
