Euro-zone trade deficit narrowed in May

In the Euro-zone, trade deficit narrowed to €26.00 billion in May, compared to a revised deficit of €31.80 billion in the prior month.

US retail sales advanced more than expected in June

In the US, retails sales climbed 1.00% on a MoM basis in June, compared to a revised drop of 0.10% in the previous month. Markets were expecting retail sales to record a rise of 0.80%.

US Michigan consumer sentiment index climbed more than anticipated in July

In the US, the Michigan consumer sentiment index rose to 51.10 in July, compared to a level of 50.00 in the prior month. Market expectations were for the index to rise to 49.90.

US industrial production unexpectedly declined in June

In the US, industrial production unexpectedly fell 0.20% on a MoM basis in June, compared to a flat reading in the previous month. Markets were expecting industrial production to record a rise of 0.10%.

NY Empire state manufacturing index unexpectedly climbed in July

In the US, the NY Empire state manufacturing index unexpectedly advanced to 11.10 in July, compared to a reading of -1.20 in the prior month. Markets were anticipating the index to fall to a level of -2.00.
