Euro-zone economic sentiment index fell in July
In the Euro-zone, the economic sentiment index fell to 99.00 in July, compared to a revised reading of 103.50 in the prior month.
Euro-zone consumer confidence dropped as anticipated in July
In the Euro-zone, the consumer confidence fell to -27.00 in July, at par with market expectations and compared to a revised reading of – 23.80 in the previous month.
Germany CPI advanced more than expected in July
In Germany, CPI climbed 7.50% on a YoY basis in July, compared to a rise of 7.60% in the prior month. Markets were expecting index to rise 7.40%.
US annualised GDP unexpectedly declined in second quarter
In the US, annualised GDP unexpectedly fell 0.90% in the second quarter of 2022, compared to a drop of 1.60% in the previous quarter. Market expectations were for GDP to record a rise of 0.50%.
US initial claims declined less than expected in the week ended 22 July 2022
In the US, initial claims dropped to 256.00 K in the week ended 22 July 2022, compared to a revised level of 261.00 K in the previous week. Markets were expecting claims to fall to 253.00 K.
