US Chicago Fed National Activity index advanced in July
In the US, the Chicago Fed National Activity index rose to a level of 0.27 in July, compared to a revised reading of -0.25 in the prior month.
Australia manufacturing PMI unexpectedly dropped in August
In Australia, the S&P Global manufacturing PMI unexpectedly fell to 54.50 in August, compared to a reading of 55.70 in the previous month. Market expectations were for the manufacturing PMI to rise to 57.30.
Australia services PMI unexpectedly declined in August
In Australia, the S&P Global services PMI unexpectedly fell to 49.60 in August, compared to a reading of 50.90 in the previous month. Markets were expecting for the services PMI to rise to 54.00.
Japan manufacturing PMI dropped more than anticipated in August
In Japan, the Jibun Bank manufacturing PMI fell to 51.00 in August, compared to a reading of 52.10 in the prior month. Markets were anticipating the manufacturing PMI to fall to 51.80.
Japan services PMI unexpectedly declined more than anticipated in August
In Japan, the Jibun Bank services PMI unexpectedly fell to 49.20 in August, compared to a reading of 50.30 in the prior month. Market anticipations were for the services PMI to rise to 50.70
