UK BRC like-for-like retail sales advanced in September
In the UK, the BRC like-for-like retail sales climbed 1.80% on a YoY basis in September, compared to a rise of 0.50% in the prior month.
Euro-zone Sentix investor confidence index declined more than expected in October
In the Euro-zone, the Sentix investor confidence index fell to -38.30 in October, compared to a reading of -31.80 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to drop to -34.70.
Japan current account surplus narrowed more than anticipated in August
In Japan, current account surplus narrowed to ¥58.90 billion in August, compared to surplus of ¥229.00 billion in the prior month. Market anticipations were for surplus to narrow to ¥121.80 billion.
Australia consumer confidence index dropped in October
In Australia, the Westpac consumer confidence index fell 0.90% in October, compared to a rise of 3.90% in the previous month.
Australia National Australia Bank’s business conditions index unexpectedly advanced in September
In Australia, the National Australia Bank’s business conditions index unexpectedly rose to 25.00 in September, compared to reading of 20.00 in the previous month. Market expectations were for the index to fall to 18.00.
