UK retail sales unexpectedly advanced in January
In the UK, BRC like-for-like retail sales unexpectedly climbed 3.90% on a YoY basis in January, compared to a rise of 6.50% in the previous month.
UK construction PMI unexpectedly declined in January
In the UK, the S&P Global construction PMI unexpectedly dropped to 48.40 in January, compared to a 48.80 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the construction PMI to drop to 49.50.
Euro-zone investor confidence climbed more than anticipated in February
In the Euro-zone, the Sentix investor confidence index rose to -8.00 in February, compared to a level of -17.50 in the prior month. Markets were anticipating the investor confidence to rise to -12.80.
Euro-zone retail sales dropped more than expected in January
In the Euro-zone, retail sales fell 2.70% on a MoM basis in January, compared to a revised rise of 1.20% in the previous month. Market expectations were for retail sales to fall 2.50%.
German factory orders climbed more than expected in December
In Germany, factory orders rose 3.20% on a MoM basis in December, compared to a revised fall of 4.40% in the previous month. Market anticipations were for factory orders to fall 2.00%.
