In the UK, industrial production unexpectedly rose 0.30% on a MoM basis in December, compared to a revised rise of 0.10% in the prior month. Markets were expecting industrial production to fall 0.20%.
UK manufacturing production unexpectedly recorded a flat reading in December
In the UK, manufacturing production unexpectedly recorded a flat reading on a MoM basis in December, compared to a revised drop of 0.60% in the previous month. Market anticipations were for manufacturing production were to fall 0.20%
German current account surplus unexpectedly widened more than expected in December
In Germany, current account surplus unexpectedly widened to €24.30 billion in December, compared to a revised surplus of €17.40 billion in the prior month. Market expectations were for current account surplus to narrow to €11.00 billion.
US Michigan consumer sentiment index advanced more than anticipated in February
In the US, the Michigan consumer sentiment index climbed to 66.40 in February, compared to a level of 64.90 in the previous month. Markets were anticipating the index to rise to 65.00
