German GfK consumer confidence rose more than expected in May
In Germany, the GfK consumer confidence advanced to -25.70 in May, compared to a revised level of -29.30 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the consumer confidence to rise to -27.50.
US MBA mortgage applications climbed in the week ended 21 April 2023
In the US, the MBA mortgage applications rose 3.70% in the week ended 21 April 2023, compared to a fall of 8.80% in the previous week.
US durable goods orders advanced more than anticipated in March
In the US, durable goods orders rose 3.20% in March, compared to a revised fall of 1.20% in the previous month. Market anticipations were for durable goods orders to rise 0.80%.
