Euro-zone business climate index dropped in April
In the Euro-zone, the business climate index eased to 0.54 in April, compared to a revised level of 0.68 in the prior month.
Euro-zone consumer confidence index climbed as expected in April
In the Euro-zone, the consumer confidence index advanced to -17.50 in April, at par with market expectations and compared to a revised level of -19.10.
Euro-zone economic sentiment index advanced less than anticipated in April
In the Euro-zone, the economic sentiment index rose to 99.30 in April, compared to a revised level of 99.20 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the economic sentiment index to rise to 99.90.
US GDP grew less than expected in 1Q23
In the US, annualised GDP rose 1.10% in 1Q23, compared to a rise of 2.60% in the previous quarter. Markets were expecting the GDP to rise 2.00%.
US initial jobless claims unexpectedly dropped in the week ended 21 April 2023
In the US, initial jobless claims fell to 230.00 K in the week ended 21 April 2023, compared to a revised level of 246.00 K in the prior week.
