UK RICS housing price balance index advanced more than anticipated in April
In the UK, the RICS housing price balance index rose to -39.00% in April, compared to -43.00% in the previous month. Market anticipations were for the index to rise to -40.00%.
German CPI grew as expected in April
In Germany, the CPI rose 7.20% on a YoY basis in April, at par with market anticipations and compared to a rise of 7.40% in the previous month.
US MBA mortgage applications advanced in the week ended 05 May 2023
In the US, the MBA mortgage applications rose 6.30% in the week ended 05 May 2023, compared to a fall of 1.20% in the prior quarter.
US CPI rose less than expected in April
In the US, the CPI advanced 4.90% on a YoY basis in April, compared to a rise of 5.00% in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to rise 5.00%.
China CPI advanced less than anticipated in April
In China, the CPI rose 0.10% on a YoY basis in April, compared to a rise of 0.70% in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to rise 0.30%.
