Euro-zone GDP unexpectedly fell in 1Q23
In the Euro-zone, GDP unexpectedly dropped 0.10% on a QoQ basis in 1Q23, compared to a similar reading in the previous quarter.
US initial jobless claims climbed more than anticipated in the week ended 02 June 2023
In the US, initial jobless claims rose to 261.00K in the week ended 02 June 2023, compared to a level of 233.00k in the prior week. Market anticipations were for jobless claims to rise to 235.00K.
China CPI rose less than expected in May
In China, the CPI advanced 0.20% on a YoY basis in May, compared to a rise of 0.10% in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to rise 0.30%.
China PPI declined more than anticipated in May
In China, the PPI dropped 4.60% on a YoY basis in May, compared to a fall of 3.60% in the prior month. Markets were expecting the index to drop 4.30%.
