Euro-zone current account surplus narrowed more than expected in April
In the Euro-zone, current account surplus narrowed to €4.00 billion in April, compared to a revised surplus of €31.00 billion in the previous month. Markets were expecting the surplus to narrow to €30.10 billion.
German PPI rose less than anticipated in May
In Germany, the PPI advanced 1.00% on a YoY basis in May, compared to a rise of 4.10% in the prior month. Market anticipations were for the index to rise 1.70%.
US building permits unexpectedly advanced in May
In the US, building permits unexpectedly rose by 5.20% on a MoM basis in May, compared to a revised fall of 1.40% in the previous month.
US housing starts unexpectedly climbed in May
In the US, housing starts unexpectedly rose by 21.70% on a MoM basis in May, compared to a revised fall of 2.90% in the previous month.
