In the Euro-zone, trade deficit unexpectedly narrowed to €0.90 billion in May, compared to a revised deficit of €8.00 billion in the prior month.
US Michigan consumer sentiment index rose more than expected in July
In the US, the Michigan consumer sentiment index advanced to 72.60 in July, compared to a level of 64.40 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to rise to 65.50.
China GDP grew more than anticipated in 2Q23
In China, GDP rose 0.80% on a QoQ basis in 2Q23, compared to a rise of 2.20% in the previous quarter. Market anticipations were for GDP to rise 0.50%.
China retail sales advanced less than expected in June
In China, retail sales rose 3.10% on a YoY basis in June, compared to a rise of 12.70% in the previous month. Markets were expecting retail sales to rise 3.20%.
