UK Halifax house prices fell more than expected in August
In the UK, the Halifax house price index dropped 1.90% on a MoM basis in August, compared to a revised fall of 0.40% in the prior month. Markets were expecting the Halifax house price index to fall 0.30%.
Euro-zone GDP rose less than anticipated in 2Q23
In the Euro-zone, GDP advanced 0.10% on a QoQ basis in 2Q23, compared to a rise of 0.10% in the prior quarter. Market anticipations were for GDP to rise 0.30%.
German industrial production dropped more than expected in July
In Germany, industrial production declined 0.80% on a MoM basis in July, compared to a revised drop of 1.40% in the previous month. Markets were expecting industrial production to fall 0.50%.
US initial jobless claims unexpectedly dropped in the week ended 01 September 2023
In the US, initial jobless claims unexpectedly fell to 216.00K in the week ended 01 September 2023, compared to a revised level of 229.00K in the prior week.
