Operators of Stanlow refinery, the UK’s second largest
Essar Oil (UK) Ltd have appointed Janet Ashdown and Neville Chamberlain as independent non-executive directors of the company.
Janet Ashdown was until the end of 2012 Chief Executive Officer of Harvest Energy Limited and Blue Ocean Oil Trading Limited, she previously worked for BP for 29 years until2009, serving in posts in the UK, continental Europe and the USA ranging from manufacturing to supply and trading to retail marketing
Her last role in BP was as Head of BP’s Fuels Marketing and Distribution business in the UK and she is a past President of UKPIA (UK Petroleum Industry Association).
Neville Chamberlain is currently a Director of Amec Nuclear Holdings Ltd, is Chairman of Structure Vision Ltd and of The Manufacturing Institute and holds, or has held, several public appointments in the UK.He is a member of the Organizing Committee for the annual Global Nuclear Energy Summits and chaired the committee in 2004 (London), 2006 (Windsor), 2008 (Berlin) and 2010 (Paris), he is also Chairman of the Cheshire Business Leaders and the National Centre for Zoonosis Research.
Mr Chamberlain was CEO of British Nuclear Fuels plc for ten years and more recently, he has been Chairman of the Anglo-Dutch-German uranium enrichment company, Urenco and the economic development group for the North of England, The Northern Way.
