So, what should you be looking at?

Autobytel (Nasdaq:ABTL), a pioneer of the automotive Internet and the company dedicated to connecting automotive consumers with dealers, recently revealed interesting new and used car shopping trends at Autobytel.com for November 2014, as well as actual vehicle sales, by manufacturer, that resulted from Autobytel leads for the first six months of this year.
“The big story here is the popularity of trucks among online shoppers, particularly the Chevy Silverado 1500 and the Ford F-150,” said Michelle Naranjo, Editor-in-Chief at Autobytel. “Even with the buzz around the redesigns of the 2015 Chevy and Ford models, earlier models represent a great value to consumers, and we’re definitely seeing the interest there.”
Consumers submitting new car leads at Autobytel.com from January to June 2014 resulted in sales percentages in the 5 – 6% range for a number of different automakers. The study was conducted by IHS Automotive which matched Autobytel leads to actual state vehicle registration records to demonstrate how many leads resulted in sales, by percentage, for each of the manufacturers.
Combined with used car sales, Autobytel leads resulted in over 588,000 vehicle sales during this six month period, an increase of almost 18% over the same six month period in 2013.
“In addition to the fact that we’ve delivered more than 50 million quality leads to our industry partners since 1995, this data clearly flies in the face of claims that third party leads are dead,” said Jeff Coats, President and CEO of Autobytel Inc. “The numbers tell the story here. There is no question consumers depend on unbiased third party information for making educated car buying decisions. For nearly 20 years, Autobytel has provided that information while driving high quality in-market car buyers to dealers and manufacturers, and we will continue to do just that.”
Autobytel Inc. provides high quality consumer leads and associated marketing services to automotive dealers and manufacturers throughout the United States and offers consumers robust and original online automotive content to help them make informed car-buying decisions.
