CHELVERTON GROWTH TRUST PLC

The Company has today been informed that David Horner, the Managing Director of
Chelverton Asset Management Limited, the investment managers of Chelverton
Growth Trust PLC purchased 100,000 Ordinary 1p shares on 7 January 2004 at the
price of 24 pence per share.

Following this transaction, Mr Horner is interested in a total of 781,368
Ordinary 1p Shares (representing 4.30% of the issued class of capital).
