Greatland Gold PLC (GGP.LN) said Thursday that drilling by
Newcrest Mining Ltd. (NCM.AU) at its Havieron project in Australia
has found high-grade mineralization.
The mining company said the best results included a 45-meter
interval with a grade of 7.1 grams of gold a ton and 0.08% copper,
and a 96.4-meter interval with a grade of 4.5 grams of gold a ton
and 0.14% copper.
In March the company signed a farm-in agreement with Newcrest
Operations Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Newcrest, to explore
the Havieron project. Newcrest can acquire up to a 70% interest in
a 12-block area that covers the project by spending $65
million.
Shares at 1043 GMT were up 1.6% at 1.86 pence.
