The Greymass team is excited to announce the launch
of EOS Wallet, a MetaMask integration for the EOS Network. This release
enables over 30 million monthly active MetaMask users to seamlessly
access and interact with the EOS ecosystem, removing barriers and
improving the user onboarding experience.
As part of the new tokenomics approved
by the EOS Network, 15M EOS was allocated to a
Middleware initiative, a portion of which was entrusted to Greymass
to make EOS more accessible, reduce friction, and simplify
onboarding. A key result of this initiative is the EOS Wallet,
which brings EOS to MetaMask users.
A New User Journey
The EOS Wallet allows users to create EOS accounts, sign
transactions, and interact with the EOS ecosystem. New users can
visit the EOS portal, Unicove, to install the
EOS Wallet, then create and manage their EOS accounts. On Unicove,
users can stake EOS, participate in the RAM market, and more. DApp
compatibility is expected to grow, further expanding access to the
EOS Ecosystem.
Security and Trust
The EOS Wallet has been thoroughly audited by Cure53, a top-tier cybersecurity firm approved by
MetaMask as a Snap auditor. As a result, the EOS Wallet is now featured
in the official MetaMask Snap directory,
ensuring users can access EOS securely and with confidence.
Opportunities for Developers
Beyond improved accessibility for users, this integration also
benefits developers across the EOS ecosystem. Tools such as
Wharf and the MetaMask Wallet Plugin
enable developers to seamlessly integrate MetaMask connectivity
into their dApps, unlocking broader user access and enhanced
functionality.
A Key Step for EOS Adoption
The integration of MetaMask through EOS Wallet represents a
significant step in expanding access, improving user experiences,
and driving broader adoption of EOS. Combined with Unicove’s
growing suite of features, this release makes EOS easier to access
and use than ever before.
