Dr. James Ferris Appointed to Dynamic Materials Corporation's Board of Directors

Dynamic Materials Corporation (DMC) (NASDAQ: BOOM), the world's
leading provider of explosion-welded clad metal plates, today
announced that its board of directors has appointed Dr. James J.
Ferris as an independent director. The appointment expands the DMC
board to seven members, five of whom are independent.
Dr. Ferris joins the DMC board with more than three decades of
diverse, senior and executive level experience in the worldwide
engineering and construction (E&C) industry. From 1994 until
his retirement in 2007, he held a variety of positions, including
director and president/group chief executive officer, with CH2M
Hill Companies Ltd., an employee owned, global E&C company
based in Englewood, Colo. With more than $6 billion in annual
revenue, CH2M Hill manages major E&C projects in the energy,
environmental, infrastructure, facilities and governmental
sectors.
Previously, Dr. Ferris spent 18 years with the E&C firm
Ebasco Services Incorporated, where he was a director and held
various project oversight and senior and executive management
positions, including president & chief executive officer of
Ebasco Environmental. He has been a member of the G8 Renewable
Energy Task Force, an active attendee at The World Economic Forum
in Davos, Switzerland, and a member of the Prince of Wales Business
Leaders Forum. He has extensive corporate board experience,
including his roles on audit, compensation, nominating and
governance committees.
