BioTech Medics, Inc., (PINKSHEETS: BMCS) announced today the recent
survey conducted by the National Institutes of Health and the US
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that "about four
in 10 US adults are turning to alternative medical approaches for
chronic pain." This independent study substantiates more Americans
are turning to alternative medicine similar to that offered by
BioTech Pain Management & Wellness Centers for pain relief.
Keith Houser, CEO of BioTech, said, "Back pain was the leading
reason that Americans reported using alternative medicine
techniques, followed by neck, joint and arthritic pain, the survey
said. I myself became involved with high powered deep penetrating
laser therapy due to back pain."
The NIH Survey also found that "many people feel alternative
medicine may work better for them than typical medical approaches,
with fewer bad side effects."
"As I look at this data, what I'm most struck with is how much
people are turning to CAM (complementary and alternative medicine)
approaches as part of the management of chronic pain conditions,
particularly chronic back pain, but also neck pain and
musculoskeletal pain and headache," said Dr. Josephine Briggs,
director of the US National Center for Complementary and
Alternative Medicine at the NIH.
The 2007 survey results were based on responses from 23,000
adults nationwide.
Overall, women and people with higher levels of education were
more likely to use alternative medicine techniques, the survey
concluded.
BioTech Medics has developed proprietary pain management
protocols utilizing patented FDA 510(k) cleared high powered deep
penetrating medical therapeutic lasers for reducing or eliminating
muscular, skeletal, nerve and/or arthritic pain. The procedures are
drug-free, quick (15 to 30 minutes) safe and non-invasive. BioTech
has affiliated centers operating in Dallas, Kansas City (Overland
Park), Albuquerque and Santa Fe, NM. A new center is pending in
Newport Beach, CA.
BioTech's advantage over competition is their proprietary
protocols for the high-powered therapeutic medical lasers that the
patient feels healing their body.
