Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW.XE) and Daimler AG (DAI.XE) are
partnering up on automated driving, the two car makers said
Thursday.
The German companies signed an agreement for long-term strategic
cooperation, which will focus on developing technologies for driver
assistance, automated driving on highways and automated parking,
they said.
BMW and Daimler expect the technologies they jointly develop to
be available on the market from 2024. The technologies will be
implemented in the car makers' respective products independently,
they said.
BMW and Daimler's cooperation is nonexclusive and is open to
other manufacturers and technology partners, the companies
said.
