UK retail sales unexpectedly dropped in August
In the UK, retail sales fell 0.90% on a MoM basis in August, compared to a fall of 2.80% in the previous month. Markets were expecting retail sales to record an advance of 0.50%.
UK house price index rose in September
In the UK, the house price index climbed 0.30% on a MoM basis in September, compared to a drop of 0.30% in the prior month.
Euro-zone CPI rose as expected in August
In the Euro-zone, the CPI advanced 3.00% on a YoY basis in August, in line with market expectations and compared to a rise of 2.20% in the prior month.
Euro-zone construction output climbed in July
In the Euro-zone, seasonally adjusted construction output advanced 0.10% on a MoM basis in July, compared to a drop of 1.70% in the prior month.
US consumer sentiment index advanced less than anticipated in September
In the US, the consumer sentiment index rose to a reading of 71.00 in September, compared to a level of 70.30 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to advance to 72.20.
